5th Annual Chips N Salsa 2011

SA Youth invites you to our 5th Annual Chips N Salsa Fiesta® event! This unique event gives you the opportunity to be a “high roller” at the poker tables or the “most sizzling” salsa dancer on the floor! Enjoy casino games like blackjack, Texas Hold ‘Em, roulette, craps or hit the slot machines, all for a great cause. There will be a Salsa-Merengue band for your entertainment. Enjoy appetizers, drinks and salsa lessons.

Located at the Red Berry Mansion on the Lake, this year’s event will appeal to guests of all ages. The venue used to be home to some of the most lavish gambling parties in San Antonio. The three stories, pool, private lake and history give Chips N Salsa a uniquely old San Antonio twist!

Since its inception, SA Youth has helped more than 20,000 youths ranging from 5 to 24 years. SA Youth works to develop the character, strengths, talents and skills of San Antonio’s high-risk urban youth through fun, safe experiences, positive learning environments and holistic programs that inspire each individual to fulfill his or her potential, personally and in the community. SA Youth programs help prevent and reduce negative and delinquent behavior, improve academic skills, increase participation in extracurricular learning experiences and improve social skills. Participating youth get the tools and opportunities they need to become responsible adults. All event proceeds will benefit youths served by SA Youth.

The B Boys bring home the Pukie!

On September 25th, the b boys participated in an event called Fight Gone Bad, hosted by our bad ass gym – Alamo Crosfit.

This fundraiser was to raise money for the Wounded Warriors Project, Live Strong and the Crossfit Foundation. Alamo Crossfit raised close to $30,000 which proves they are one of the strongest Crossfit locations around.

As part of the event we created a video about the experience and the causes it help. We submitted the video to the FGB Pukies. The “Pukie” is the award given to the best video about the FGB5 event. The blondes in typical fashion stoled the gold. Please watch the video and let us know what you think.

Just because this event is over does not mean you can’t still make a contribution. Click a link below and see how you can get involved.

Fight Gone Bad 5

The b boys have thrown their directorial hat into another film competition.

On September 25th 2010 the b boys had the privilege of not only documenting, but competing in Fight Gone Bad 5.

Fight Gone Bad began as a fundraising event in 2006. From those humble beginnings and with the support of the CrossFit community, it has proven what a small, totally committed group of people can accomplish. The first four editions of Fight Gone Bad have raised a combined total of more than $2 million.

Fight Gone Bad 5 opened its arms to benefit three charities this year: LIVESTRONG, Wounded Warrior Project and the CrossFit Foundation.

During the event groups were asked to document the event and compose a video that they could submit to be eligible for consideration in the 2010 Pukie Awards. the following is a link to our submission. Please visit and please leave us some feedback. Part of the judging is based on the comments left by people who have viewed the videos and we could use your support.
